Live Bands

Jeff Yette, the founder of 44° North Promotions (44°N) credits his musical taste and talents to his family where he grew up to the sounds of the trumpet and exposure to the Norwood Brass Fireman ... a Northern New York icon. Throughout his youth, he was exposed to most genres of music including rock-n-roll, classical, country, jazz, blues and rock. Jeff played brass through his youth and studied music theory in college. He has been a staple of the Northern New York music scene as the front man of such groups as Straight Line, Thump, 44°N, Jacked and his most recent project PlanB.

What started out unknowingly a few years ago when Jeff was contacted for a booking of his then current band, but couldn't fulfill it due to some members being unavailable, he contacted former Thump band mates Mike and Phil and formed a "pick-up" band to play the private party.

Recently, Todd & Bill from Illusion filled in with Jeff and Jon of Jacked to cover a gig orginally slated for the complete Jacked line-up. When a personal conflict came up for Rich and Jason, Jacked was faced with either canceling the gig on somewhat short notice and leaving the venue high and dry, or finding a couple of fill-ins. Since it was 1/2 of one band and 1/2 of another, it was going to sound like either.

The result was a great night playing many songs common to both groups, but adding some classic favorites that were familiar to all 4 musicians. Everyone had a blast and we played some great music that got the crowd up dancing. From there, conversation sparked regarding "Plan B" becoming a rotating group of talented musicians capable of playing virtually any event. Jeff remains the front man of "Plan B" and surrounds himself with the best talent available.

By default, PlanB is a 4-piece group playing a variety of music spanning rock, country, blues, and alternative. The also have the flexibility to add members to expand their repitoire to include a female vocalist and accomplished pianist, saxaphone and other instruments. On occasion, PlanB will promote special events featuring a specific style of music such as Alt-'80s (think Pearl Jam, Nirvana), a tribute to a specific artist (such as Tragically Hip, Ozzy or Tobby Keith) or a showcase of local bands playing orginal songs. PlanB also provides the backing support for visiting musicians such as Phil Hurley or Joel & Devin Kelley of Edison.

Disc Jockey/Master of Ceremonies

In addition to being a performing musician, Jeff has served as a speaker and Master of Ceremonies for groups up to 5,000 in attendance since 1988. Applying his background in music and public speaking, Jeff has kept the bodies on the dance floored for countless weddings, reunion, anniversaries serving as both a live musician and a Disc Jockey. DJing is done with the same professional gear and lights used for Live Band performances with crystal clear digital music.
