Audio Equipment
Over the course of 20 years as a DJ, MC and performing musician, Jeff has gained experience with small to medium sized Public Address (PA) systems ranging in size from a single microphone Master of Ceremonies type system, to larger 32 channel mixers capable of handling larger live music performances. Jeff has served as the house sound engineer for the Edwards Opera House since 2007 where he has the priviledge of running sound for award-winning folk musicians such as Kim Kweskin, Geoff Muldar, and Jay Unger & Molly Mason as well as comedians Costaki Economopoulos and Paul & Storm.
Over the years, he has engineered a system comprised of industry leading equipment including a 16 channel Behringer Mixer; EV, Behringer & Shure microphones; QSC & Peavey amplifiers; a dbx Drive PA (crossover, Auto EQ, Auto Feedback eliminator, compressor, etc); Digitech vocal effects and EV speakers. This system is suitable for audiences up to 600 people in attendance and is currently configured for mono Front of House (FOH) with two separate monitor mixes - one wet (with effects) and one dry (with out effects). The system can be reinforced with additional FOH speakers, amplifiers and monitors to accommodate larger acts and venues.
This configuration allows for extreme flexibility and "smart-sizing" for individual venues. In smaller confined spaces, the FOH can consist of a single full range cabinets (15"+horn) or a bi-amped system with a 18" subwoofer + 15"+horn cabinet. Slightly larger venues will benefit from a two (2) 18" subwoofers and two (2) 15"+horn cabinets. Venues that require additional sound reinforcement will benefit from four 18" subwoofers and four (4) 15"+horn cabinets. The PA system also includes a basic Chauvet four (4) par can sound-activated light system. Additional equipment/capabilities are available with sufficient notice to make the necessary arrangements with area rental companies.
